Aren’t we all mesmerized about the shows like selling sunset, million dollar listings, selling Beverly hills etc. We all think we are glad it is not happening here, in our Frederick area. Well – things have changed and Million dollar deals in Frederick county are not rare anymore. Not only Frederick County – but neighboring counties as well. Not only in MD – but WV had a fair share of million dollar listings.

Just in 2024 there were 148 properties listed and/or sold at or above 1 million dollars. In the whole of Frederick County.
Highest price listed property at the beginning of January 2025 is in Jefferson – listed at 2 700 000.
Looking at the data of all homes in 2024 – The highest number of bedrooms among homes above $1 million dollars held a house listed in Frederick city – with 9 bedrooms and 7.5 bathrooms.
72 homes within that price range had 5 bedrooms or more, however, there was a property listed at that price with 0 bedrooms and 1 bathroom (well for the property defense – that was more of a farm with stables).
Surprisingly 8 homes had only 2 bedrooms.
70 of the homes – were listed or sold withing Frederick City itself.
To compare Frederick county to nearby counties – Washington County had only 9 listings (Active or sold) above 1 million dollars, however – the most expensive listing was priced at $4 200 000.
Montgomery county on the other hand had 2296 properties (sold or listed) above 1 million, whereas the most expensive one was/is listed at 29 900 000.
WV Jefferson and Berkeley Counties held 21 active, under contract or sold properties above 1 million dollars and most expensive deal closed at $60 000 000 (quite frankly I think it was just a data entry error, made by an agent – when I looked closely at the deal). The next most expensive property sold in the town of Shepherdstown at $4 000 000
